Pharmaceuticals Laboratory Laser Scan

Survey & Engineering Projects were tasked with undertaking a laser scanner survey of a laboratory owned and operated by a major pharmaceuticals manufacturer and distributor. From this gathered point cloud data we were to produce detailed 3D Revit models of the structure and plant.

Challenges

The high detail required pressed importance of precision. The sensitive nature of the facility meant that access was limited and sporadic. Our laser scanning equipment is capable of millimetre accuracy allowing us to capture incredibly fine detail in extraordinary resolution with the minimum of site time. Our experienced Revit team were able to render the site into a practical and versatile 3D Revit model.

Results

With the model produced by our survey, our client was able to design and plan for the dismantling and replacement of highly technical equipment. The “Site to Office” data capture of laser scanning means a vast reduction in site time and disruption while Revit allows for great flexibility during the design process.
